Rebecca - another backup is to just point the camera at the laptop and zoom in. This works great too!

One suggestion for a backup when doing things with powerpoint or doc camera is to have the slides printed out, in color if possible. Then, if the peripheral never connects for some reason, you can at least just show the slides manually using your ivc camera.

As I content provider, one of the main problems I run into with teachers is their placement of the microphone. I have had teachers place the mic in all places around the classroom but the suggestion you made seems to be the best solution to this issue.

I noticed the calls and emails about call direction too. It's a good thing to write down!!

I like your pt to test the computer connection too. I think I better require that in MysteryQuest tests this year. Thanks for the nudge that way!

These are great tips!

Excellent write up! I enjoy when people share what worked and what can be improved.

We discovered that H.239 was turned ON by default on our new bridge. It is now switched off because we have such a mix of endpoint software versions and older units...too much hassle!

Nice visual examples, Lori! Thanks for sharing these. I especially like the wide variety of posters that worked and didn't work.

I agree with you on H.239. I have not seen it work well very often either.

What a great collection of February projects! I would love to do either of the projects with you next year if you have room for MI students. :)

Most of them are either 2 or 3 schools and I bridge it with my 880 MXP. For registration, I use our wiki, http://disdvideoconferencing.pbwiki.com. Saves a ton of time on email.

That is awesome! Are they point-to-point or multi-point? How do you manage registration? Just have them email you?
